Fritz Schulz--Ashton Circus, 1960's

A while back a mate from Australia mentioned that the lions down under had become very poor specimens due to past unscrupulous breeders, and that now they have some of the finest specimens in the world given a new conscientious effort at record keeping and skill. I gotta wonder how much skill it really takes to improve on the animal in the top photo? LOL
