A Blog designed for discussion of topics related to, but not limited to, Circus, Zoos, Animal Training, and Animal Welfare/Husbandry. Sometimes opening up the dialog is the best starting point of all. And if for nothing else when people who agree and don't agree, get together and start discussing it, it will open up a lot of peoples minds. Debate and discussion even amongst themselves opens a window where there wasn't one before.

I remember the 1962 Moose. I was still hanging around Lincoln Park Zoo. The young moose was at the Buffalo Barn, don't recognize the keeper. I do recall they had the Park District bringing in fresh browse for him - also recall he liked banana peels (kind of like aquatic plants).
The Milwaukee Zoo was famous for their herd of moose they had for years.
Jim,
In the 1910 photo's below, is that the octagon rhinoceros barn/building the moose are pictured in front of? Try as I might, I can't find a picture of that building.
