I don't know what to think about colonials parading through the streets of Calcutta in such oppulence. Indian Royalty, maybe, but British lords and ladies.....hmmm

Anonymous,
If you studied British History and how they think, the whole situation might be easier to understand. I used to think the same way, but once I really looked at it from a Pommies point of view, it became crystal clear and acceptable. Kinda like a Jehovah Witness. God loves me, but he hates you. A deal like that....... :)

First it is important to understand where England is located at. A few years ago there was an animal trainer from England working in the United States, telling reporters she was a "European style trainer" which confused some folks. Geographically the island of Great Britain lies just west of Russia, east of the United States and north of Africa. :)

JIm,
My pleasure. I also hope to have the pleasure one day of coming to Africa. I will pack my Britians and Beau Gestes carefully and together with yours we can go out in the bush, where nobody can see us and ponder "look at those two old guys" and build roads and encampments out of sticks and rocks and put on our own Delhi Durba with maybe a Chipperfield Corgi circus as an added attraction. As often as my boys sarcastically ask, "Pops, what are you going to do with all those "toys," I reply, "give them to you one day. Why don't you think they rule?"
