Mary Ruth Herriott, a 1960s Circus World performer, is shown with her team of elephants in this photo from the archives of the museum’s Robert L. Parkinson Library and Research Center. Her daughter, equestrian Heidi Herriott, and granddaughter, aerial acrobat Cassidy Herriott, are continuing the family tradition with the second and third generations of performances at the historic site. (How about that. Not a single mention of John Milton. :) Such is the life of a herd sire)
