End to end, with door's open and feeding panel's removed a "cage wagon" offers nothing other then vertical to the animals well being. They get all the vertical they can tolerate when in the exercise cage, and use it about 5 percent of the time, if that. This is a great clip as it give's us some great "expert commentary" from some apparently learned zoologist's or animal activist's as they are more commonly referred to. Geez, the "junk she is putting on there", the "sedative", the "shit on there" mentioned at 6:14 is actually a veterinary university specially formulated and mixed vitamin and calcium supplement used by most feline facilities in the United States. God Bless America, where you can be as ignorant as a bag of hammers and still have an opinion and be free to express said opinion.
Hawthorn cage wagon and rolling cages, along with "expert commentary" from a learned zoologist or cat groom or show manager as they are otherwise known. They are also American citizens, and thus free to express opinions. LOL

Will post further at the end of the week but all I can say at the moment is the condition of the tigers that I can see is superb.
Anonymice are rarely "learned" or "expert". That's why they don't have names.
Wade - back home and have had a look at the videos.
The most important thing is that the animals appear to be in very good condition and the tigers, even when feeding, are pretty relaxed about the whole deal. By comparison, I have a video of Hoover's cats being fed way back when and the comparisons are startling. These cats are pretty cool.
With regards to the housing we will have to agree to disagree! You don't see the need for height - I have seen my cats use it and seem to appreciate it.
With regards to exercise areas - you think that half an hour or so prior to showtime is OK. I don't necessarily disagree. By law in this country we have to have our cats with access to the exercise area for 6 hours a day. They don't have to be out in it, they just have to have access to it. Some cats hardly ever use it, some are in it for most of that time. I guess, from the cat's point of view, the advantage is that they have choices.
The point that I have made to you in the past is, that despite having exercise areas and greater height made compulsory in this country, we have observed no great change in the condition or demeanour of our cats. The big advantage has been in the way that the public perceive our husbandry.
With regard to the second video, I can see what the people filming it are trying to portray. They have failed. There is nothing wrong with a camel having his leg over a tether rope for instance. In fact the film shows clearly that the camel is so well adjusted that he doesn't panic or stress about the situation - end of story.
And that's what comes out of both these videos. The animals in them are in good condition and are totally adjusted to their lifestyle.
Just because some anonymouse doesn't like that lifestyle doesn't give them the right to crusade against it. There are more serious matters in this world that they could get on their high horses about.

Where in the world did I say that a half hour or so prior to a show is adequate? You have to get off of Dave Hoover. That one individual was long, long ago and on his best day was bottom shelf. I can come up with vintage Schulz that will gag you and curl your hair. The point you keep avoiding was that Hoover was the exception, not the rule and was not revered as one of the best as was Schulz, no offense to Schulz.
Any animal with it's leg over a tether/tie rope is a bad situation camel or not. No animal should be tied to a stake and all should be tied high and at the minimum not able to get their head lower then the top of their chest.
The video was to show you that Hawthorn does have cage wagon's as do a few others, as well as rolling cages. The cage wagons are used for fair/carnival dates which are basically a tent show or for the occasional tent show it's self. The rolling cages are used for buildings where the majority of date are. So you see Steve we are actually way ahead, and can play any number of venues not being limited to only one.
