Tarzan Zerbini

Tarzan Zerbini was sure looking good on February 21, 1968. He was looking even better when I first saw him for the first time on the famed Texas date's in 1975. He and his wife Jackie(type Jackie Zerbini in the search bar at the top left) with the highest aerial act you can imagine, were about the classiest, most high line act's at the time. They arrived in two custom painted powder blue and white with gold pin striped Kenworth tractor trailers, one to haul the cat act, and one with the front half built into a custom living quarters and the back half to haul "his and her's" Rolls Royce's. If I recall the white one was Jackies, and had personalized plates that said "Queen of the Air" and Jon's gold one said, "Lord of the Jungle." Rumors at the time(1975) were flying that Tarzan was being paid the unheard amount of $1000.00 a day just for the cat act.(To put that "unheard" of amount in perspective, that had the circus world all in a titter at the huge sum, the band Who was paid $18,500 in 1969 for three day's at Woodstock. About 5 years ago, Kenneth Feld bought Tarzan and Jackies younger daughter Sylvia a wheel for her ring of fame induction, but somebody else had to buy Gunther Gebel Williams' as well as Charly Baumanns. Gunther had a friend in North Carolina who bought his, and Charly's was finally bought after a fund drive, headed by Peggy Williams, the first female clown graduate from the famed Clown College. Sadly, I have often thought Charly was inducted as an "afterthought", after Gunther was inducted, and there was a massive outrage that Charly wasn't in before that. Sylvia's father Tarzan was inducted this year, 5 years after his daughter, and her mother Jackie isn't in the "ring" yet. Rex Williams who was deserving of induction, had his wheel purchased/sponsored by John and Herta Cuneo. Herta Klauser Cuneo who was also deserving was inducted as Herta Klauser and her wheel was purchased/sponsored by the Hawthorn Corp. John Cuneo isn't in the Ring of Fame, yet Allen C. Hill is???

I have asked on a number of occasions for insight as to how the selection process works, what are the requirements, what are the standards, what get's you in, what keeps you out, and who/what elects or how are the candidates for induction selected. It seems like a reasonable request and it is something that many folks have asked about. Very much like the selection process at Monte Carlo. Does anyone else think it is odd that no insight has been forthcoming or posted on a web site so that folks would understand and learn what the process is about.
