Hagenbecks Historic Main Gate

The beautiful main entrance gate to the Hagenbeck Zoo has been restored, and correct me if I am mistaken, is now the back entrance gate to the famed zoo. Many zoo's of yesterday had spectacular, impressive front entrances, which gave a feeling of awe just walking through them into the zoo. Today many of them have been sadly replaced, or in the case of a new zoo never built instead often depending on ugly, flapping banners to welcome you to the world of "nature and beauty" not much different then walking down main street USA in a city with a new exhibit opening at the museum.
