Wade,
As far as i know Banda Vidane joined Krone in 1980. He went in to retirment in 1996, he returnd briefly to assist Jana Mandana whit the herd and at the same time showed James Puydebois how to work the herd when he and the Col. joined Krone.

Claude,
Again thank you for the correction. The pictures really had me guessing. I knew of Krone and Knie to have the "web" head pieces, but I didn't know Busch did. Benda Vidane as the trainer made me think Krone, as I also didn't know he had been with Busch. The different cheek drops on the head pieces, plus the horse/elephant act really threw me. I thought it was two different shows. I took a guess, and it was wrong. LOL

I think we see both father and son Vidane in one of the pictures. Epi Vidane was originally from Sri Lanka and came to Germany before the war to work for Circus Jacob Busch. He and his son Banda stayed with Busch during/after the war and trained the elephants there. Banda later went to West Germany, worked at Franz Althoff (Rennbahncircus), Knie (Switzerland) and later Krone.

I have found a notation that the elephant Yasso arrived to Ringling in the late 1920s with Epi Vidane from Germany
