I hope White Tiger Historian Paul McCarthy is sitting down, or at least sedated before he see's these incredible photo's, kindly sent by kls dad a "circus fan" from New York. He had them stored away and just found them, and I sure do appreciate him sending them. The note sent with them say's:
" I finally located these 3 photos a friend took for me at the New
Delhi Zoo in the 1960's and thought they might be of interest
to you. I read most of the lengthy Wiki article on Captive White Tigers
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Captive_White_Tigers and learned that
indeed there were two white tigers at the zoo in the 1960's.
I had just heard of a white tiger/s belonging to a Maharaja being at
the New Delhi Zoo and asked a friend to take a picture if he could.
Turns out.. he went to the zoo and asked the keeper to allow them outside so he
could get these shots.
What magnificent animals. But.. sad enclosures!!"
From the wikipedia link kls dad sent:
Mohan was then bred to his daughter Radha (who carried the white gene inherited from her father) with success. The initial litter of four cubs—a male named Raja, and three females named Rani, Mohini, and Sukeshi—were the first white tigers born in captivity, on October 30, 1958. Raja and Rani went to the New Delhi Zoo, and Mohini was bought by the German-American billionaire John Kluge for $10,000, for the, as a gift to the children of America, in 1960.
So, what do you think Paul. Might these animals pictured actually be Raja and Rani, siblings from the first litter of White Tigers born in captivity? Wow!!!!!

Ilona Fritz,
You need to take your "sick twist" someplace else. I didn't post your Great Adventure videos long ago, because we are not interested in you, or your agenda. Christie DeCapite is a good and decent girl from what I understand and you need to go back in your hole and leave the world alone.

Wade, I did'nt see this until just now. I was looking for a place to leave you this: http://www.ago.net/maharaja-exhibit# I hope that will work. Sincerely Paul
I don't think it's as bad as it looks. I think the white tigers have a nice big yard. That was when K. S. Sankhala was the director of India's National Zoo. He was the first director of Project Tiger. Sincerely Paul
Paul,
It's a no go, the link didn't work.
For some reason, surrounded by bars or chain link, makes an exhibit look small and inadequate to the public. Actuality is, more area space is lost due to a moat. Perceptions are an odd deal, and bars look like "jail" to the uninformed.
Wade
Wade, the link was for an exhibition at the Ontario Museum of Art titled Maharaja. It's all sorts of items, like priceless jewels, from the royal courts of India. Sincerely Paul
