Hello Wade
I am the sister of the owner of Sequoia. First I would like to know if you received permission to use the pictures and names of her horses.
Second, the original intent WAS to have a wildly colored foal which was the result.
My sister also raises and breeds miniature horses which seem to change their color yearly!
I am not sure exactly where you are going with this post but I would advise that you get permission from the owners of the animals before posting names or pictures.
Sister of Linda Marsh,
No I did not receive permission to use the picture and names of Legendary Design when I posted his picture on the same link with Mystic Warrior, seen in the below thread, who's picture and name I also did not receive permission to use. As we have "updated" Mystic Warrior, and ndiscussed his mother, I guess we would be remiss if we did not update Legendary Design, and his mother, second picture above. "Legend" who you may or may not know, is also a Friesian X Appaloosa cross. He is by 17.1 hand Approved FPZV Friesian stallion Ljibbes Valour X PJ's Peppermint Patty. Legend is E/e LP/lp with no bay gene or other color modifiers. I think what got everybody's thong in a twist was the use of the term "bad news grey gene," yet to an Appaloosa breeder that is what it is. So that there are no more hard feelings, I will refer to the grey gene as a color modifier from here on in. I should point out that Legend has neither the grey or bay(which would be a "bad news bay gene" if you were breeding another color of horse) gene hence his color at maturity which Appaloosa breeders would call "loud" or " near leopard," which is different from a "few spot leopard," if I am not mistaken, and please correct me if I am.
As folks may not know what the "P" in Legends dam stands for in an effort at fairness, I guess you would like me to point out that it stands for Plaudit. Without referencing the registry we might assume, rightly or wrongly that she is descended from or has lines to King Plaudit or his great, great grand son Prince Plaudit.
Prince Plaudit - Appaloosa Stallion in Appaloosa Horse Club Hall ...
Prince Plaudit was one of my all time favorite Appaloosa's next to Stud Spider, and he has lines to one of the most famous Quarter Horse sires of all time Impressive who was a chestnut Appendix American Quarter Horse, which is the same color as Legends mother. The terrible, terrible tragedy of Impressive is that it was discovered that he was the source of HYPP.
Quarter Horse Impressive Syndrom
Some folks call it Hyperkalemic periodic paralysis and some folks call it Impressive Syndrome. What ever they chose to call it, it is a "bad news gene," no matter how you want to look at it.
I hope this clears up the misunderstanding, and this "circus freak" will look forward to your comments on the blog.
Wade Burck
