Sometimes opening up the dialog is the best starting point of all. And if for nothing else when people who agree and don't agree, get together and start discussing it, it will open up a lot of peoples minds. Debate and discussion even amongst themselves opens a window where there wasn't one before.

Wouldn't the assumption be that they were bitten off?
elephant hair rings anyone?
No idea- Arna had a full tuft when I was around her many, many years ago.
Of more significance to those in the know, is the significance of the red hand trolley in the foreground of the picture and it's role in Arna's alleged deed.
Radar,
I would bet money that is what happened. I saw it actually happen, once in 1977. An elephant had gotten her back leg chain off, and went to the third elephant in line and mangled the tail. After 4 months of doctoring, it looked like this. That is why elephants are kept on two leg chains. You can sometimes tie a horse with one rope, but often times it is safer to cross tie him with two. It doesn't mean you are less caring of him, it just means you do it for his safety and the safety of those around him. The injury is common on old rail show elephants.

Steve,
I am assuming the gentleman leaned against it to have his heart attack, and it tipped over, cause the massive trauma to his body?

Not even close! lol
Steve,
WTF!!!! That's what the Stardust "official statement" said.
