I wonder if these cubs are "golden tabby" or normal colored? It is hard to tell.

A Blog designed for discussion of topics related to, but not limited to, Circus, Zoos, Animal Training, and Animal Welfare/Husbandry. Sometimes opening up the dialog is the best starting point of all. And if for nothing else when people who agree and don't agree, get together and start discussing it, it will open up a lot of peoples minds. Debate and discussion even amongst themselves opens a window where there wasn't one before.

There's a picture of liger cubs in today's paper. It does'nt say where. Sincerely Paul
Look like Golden Tabby's to me.
Rob
Yup Rob to me too
If these shots were taken recently, it will have been on Circus Herman Renz in Holland.
Yes John,it is at Herman Renz where they where born.
The cubs (1.1) where born on the 17th of June.Father is the white tiger Tibet ,mother is golden tabby Sumina. They are owned by the
Togni family.
Even after reading that last message they don't look like golden tabbys to me. Sincerely Paul
Here they are: http://www.circusforlive.blogspot.com/ Sincerely Paul
There were more pictures further down on that blog of Hawthorn Circus white tigers in the Knie Circus in 1988. Did Hawthorn white tigers father cubs by Knie circus tigers? I used to have a videotape of white tigers in the Knie Circus. I've probably mentioned that two dozen times. This was back around 1993. I seem to recall talking to someone who must have been at the Swiss Consulate to get an address for the Knie Circus, which I called the Swiss National Circus. I remember the lady said something like "You mean the Knie." Sincerely Paul
Paul,
No they did not sire any cubs with Knie. The act mentioned was my old act, that when to Knie in 1988 with John Campolongo and my brother that we have discussed in the past. Ari was later left in Germany, but most of the white tigers in Europe were introduce by Josip Marcan, and the Stukenbrock(sp) park.
Just as in Mexico Paul, if you go to the American Embassy and mention Atayde, the response is "THE Atayde."

I recall this act being discussed previously. Thank you. Sincerely Paul
On the circusforlive blog there are three Togni tiger cubs, the mother is not a golden tabby, but a regular orange tiger, and I think the date of birth was given as June 8, 2009, not the 17th. Sincerely Paul
Stuckenbrock, if I'm spelling that right, is Fritz Wurm's, so indirectly from the Cincinnati Zoo, which makes me wonder whether every white tiger in Europe is'nt descended from Tony, except for the ones which came from Robert Baudy I would guess. Thanks. Sincerely Paul
Paul,
I have said that a thousand times, both publicly and in private when a "new/immaculate conception" bloodline appears on the scene, or a new act with white tigers appears. And I believe it all can trace back to Mohan and Mohini.

I read aaaa newspaper article more than ten years ago about a stripeless white tiger in a Spanish zoo which came from a Japanese circus, which does not contradict anything you just said. I recieved a letter from somebody at Zurich Zoo years ago on the subject of white tigers. I asked them whether there were any in Switzerland. He said there was just one in a roadside zoo and the "that fortunately is the only one in Switzerland." I think those were his words. Sincerely Paul
