A Blog designed for discussion of topics related to, but not limited to, Circus, Zoos, Animal Training, and Animal Welfare/Husbandry. Sometimes opening up the dialog is the best starting point of all. And if for nothing else when people who agree and don't agree, get together and start discussing it, it will open up a lot of peoples minds. Debate and discussion even amongst themselves opens a window where there wasn't one before.

Gosta was Swedish, and is associated with Bertram Mills' Circus. His British wife, Joan, presented a bear act as "Joan's Teddy Bears" on the same show. Their daughter (now Yvonne Kruse) has an act with a solo elephant, which she presents with her husband.
I believe his father was a noted animal trainer as well. What say Sue Lenz?
Gösta Kruses father, Theodor Kruse, was stable master at Trolle Rhodins Zoo Circus in Sweden, and died during a tour in Turkey. 18 years old, Gösta started to work elephants in sweden, and 1951-1965 head elephant trainer on Bertram Mills circus. From 1965 until his death in 1973, he was elephant trainer at Cirque Pinder in France.
