"Can anybody explain to me or help me understand what I am seeing and hearing hear in the video? I saw nothing that was cause for alarm in the short cage act clip, but the elephant segment is indeed disturbing. Any elephant guy's out there that can help. The hooks looked like the new thin, nylon ones, small and relatively ineffective, so there wasn't as much "pain" as it may have looked. It was the demeanor and attitude of the folks delivering the ineffective blows, that added with the "looking around" first suggests at a real frustration, which may lead to something other in private."

Has there been a verdict handed down yet on the Ringling elephant "trial"?
If so, what was it?
