The Lusitano John is bowing on, on the right, has been described to me many times, by knowledgeable horsemen who saw it as the "most beautiful Lusitano in the United States at the time." His summer coat color has been described as "the color of a newly minted copper penny, with the blackest mane, tail and 4 legs you would ever see."

Wade, wrong color, he was like a gold coin not a copper one. He was stunning, I was around him for over a year while Albert Ostermaier trained him. He truly was one of a kind, exciting moving, tiny head and teacup nose, small ears, now if I had one of those...LOL John Cuneo loved the horse and was his personal mount. The black stallion Prince was also a lovely stallion schooled in Spain I believe, I rode him for awhile, nice horse, bigger broader but beautiful. Cuneo had good taste in lovely horses. Most described him as being colored like a freshly minted Krugerrand. John described it as a newly minted copper penny. I don't know if that is relevant or indicates any thing, other then he has not seen many pennies. LOL Do you recall the horses name? Wasn't it a Spanish name?
