A Blog designed for discussion of topics related to, but not limited to, Circus, Zoos, Animal Training, and Animal Welfare/Husbandry. Sometimes opening up the dialog is the best starting point of all. And if for nothing else when people who agree and don't agree, get together and start discussing it, it will open up a lot of peoples minds. Debate and discussion even amongst themselves opens a window where there wasn't one before.

Wade, Joe and I saw this act in September 2001, and we were not very impressed with the presentation.

Mary Ann,
It didn't need to be impressive. It had "cute and charming" in it's corner and she was supplied with what she could handle, politics and all.
I would hope that if she had been a friend of your's the act would not have seemed better that day. LOL Or as I was told one time by a "reputable Diva of the cage", "I wish you had seen the act last week. All my females are in heat, and they gave me trouble tonight, you know how that is." I didn't, but I took her word for it. I saw the same act 3 months later unannounced and 2 of the females were out of the act, and a male was causing trouble. Funny how long a female is in heat, and then those bloody males have to come in heat. LOL

Mary Ann,
For perspective, I should add that 2001 was the second year Sara had been working cats, and I have posted others of her in later years, and saw her advance as she became more experienced. I could also reference a dozen others who went the other direction with their "experience" skill's but rode "cute and charming" to the finish line.
