If anybody needed help moving stuff it was Clyde. But in his style this was the only "group" trick there was, and most of the animals along the back never got off their seats. Most of the props stayed and didn't move, and he used the area in the front.

I've never seen any motion pictures of Clyde Beatty's act - only staged pics like this. So I've always wondered how the hell he moved all those big heavy props around. You've just explained it for me - he didn't!
Having a heap of seat sitters in a mixed act with that many cats was always obvious.
