A Blog designed for discussion of topics related to, but not limited to, Circus, Zoos, Animal Training, and Animal Welfare/Husbandry. Sometimes opening up the dialog is the best starting point of all. And if for nothing else when people who agree and don't agree, get together and start discussing it, it will open up a lot of peoples minds. Debate and discussion even amongst themselves opens a window where there wasn't one before.

I saw the ghost zoo connected to Hearst Castle in California this morning. I think there are 65,000 Burchell's zebras still living on the estate and also elk. I was also watching a documentary about bison. Ted Turner owns 55,000. Sincerely Paul
Wade: I'm sorry I was mistaken about them having 65,000 Burchell's zebra. They have 65 Burchell's zebra. I should listen more carefully. Take care. Sincerely Paul
Wade: Here is the documentary I saw about the plains bison. It was episode 206. http://www.thisamericanland.org/Episodes/Season-two Sincerely Paul
Wade: Sorry it's episode 205 about the bison. Sincerely Paul
Wade: I can't tell whether this story is a joke: http://www.thedailyload.com/2011/04/jack-hanna-fired-for-supplying-sheen-tiger-blood/ I'll see if I can find anything else about it on the internet. I also saw a great story on the BBC World News the other morning about a black rhinoceros born at Chester Zoo. They have had one born each year for the past four years since they started analyzing the rhino's poop to determine the optimum time to breed them and they now have a total of ten black rhino, and are hoping that other European zoos will adopt their methodology. The Western black rhino was just declared extinct. Take care. Sincerely Paul
Wade: The story about Jack Hanna being fired for stealing tiger blood appears to be a joke, although it's not funny. I'm sorry I wasted your time with it. Sincerely Paul PS: I knew that chimpanzees don't throw poop.
