Jeannie, note the "extreme roan" coloration of his grandmother.
A Blog designed for discussion of topics related to, but not limited to, Circus, Zoos, Animal Training, and Animal Welfare/Husbandry. Sometimes opening up the dialog is the best starting point of all. And if for nothing else when people who agree and don't agree, get together and start discussing it, it will open up a lot of peoples minds. Debate and discussion even amongst themselves opens a window where there wasn't one before.

Wade - These are some flashy babies. Part of the fun of Appaloosas is guessing what color they are going to be when they grow up. I have a friend who when her first App baby was born a light blond color named her Another Blond Moment. Since she turned dark when the baby fuzz fell out, we just tell people the name refers to the owner when she named the filly.

Jeannie,
Funny story, and illustrates that you play it safe, name an appy foal something that will be appropriate no matter what happens. LOL
