The Grief of the Pasha--Jean-Leon Gerome artist

In response to the Maharajah of Jodhpurs refusal to shoot Mohan, are you familiar with this painting which hang in the Chicago Arts building. I have a copy taken out of a damaged book of Victor Hugo poems titled Grief of a Pasha when I was 10, framed and hanging on my wall today. It is my favorite "animal" picture, and for me has always said it all. Surrounded by opulence, what brought this ruler to his knees.

Wade, this is poignantly beautiful. It really does say it all, and needs no words. I am sure that there have been times is your life when you have felt exactly as the man in the painting did.

Mary Ann,
If it was for the better, there is a joy. If it was unnecessary or preventable, it justs take one time, and it never goes away. All the times, just blend together and stay forever in one place.
