Amir Jamaal at the age of 7--Owner Karin McMurtrie, Hawks Flight Farm

Dianne Old Rossi might appreciate this. I have often been "accused" of taking animal training too serious, and being too hard on myself. In 1997 I was given the wonderful opportunity to put this amazing Stallion under saddle. After 30 day's people told me how great he was doing. Not being real sure they really knew, I took him to a clinic where they were judging Pre St. George candidates. Here's what the judge said, after I had ridden the letters, Dianne. "How long have you been riding him?" I replied, "30 day's, what do you suggest?" She said, "you've done a great job with him. Bring him back in 6 years and let me look at him again." LOL

What a brave sole and I am sure we've all been there but I would think only you would have the nuts to go in front of a Pre St George judge after 30 days riding a green horse. Gutsy!

Dianne,
It had nothing to do with arrogance. LOL I just wanted an idea of how much work I had ahead of me. Quite a bit, as I found out. LOL He dried out, and matured nicely, didn't he. After Amir it was many years of bay's and chestnuts. I think thats why I liked Satin so much.
