Lincoln Park Zoo's classic, wonderful old feline house

For a child of years ago, this was very exciting. You knew you were in the lion house. The smell was there always, the roars echoed through the brick/tile corridors. The barred cages, side by side were mysterious and awe inspiring. Children/adults of today want something different and you have to change with those changes. Lincoln Park is one of many zoo's who have retained the historic old architecture, and improved the husbandry and animals well being by completely revamping to modern standards the cages and the interior. Audubon is another example of a leader in this trend.
