A Blog designed for discussion of topics related to, but not limited to, Circus, Zoos, Animal Training, and Animal Welfare/Husbandry. Sometimes opening up the dialog is the best starting point of all. And if for nothing else when people who agree and don't agree, get together and start discussing it, it will open up a lot of peoples minds. Debate and discussion even amongst themselves opens a window where there wasn't one before.

Jonnny,
What do you think? Is this what the people want to see?
Wade Burck
Wade, I can assure you that this is NOT what the people want to see, especially someone who loves these animals. They want to see happy content animals, not snarling unhappy ones. Again GGW over CB.
Mary Ann
Mary Ann,
What I did here was cut a backward hindleg walking tiger off at the hips. I was hoping for two responses, one of what you gave. Do you think the snarling is acceptable, now that the animal is doing something, walking on its hindlegs?
If the response had been yes, they like them snarling and noisy, I would have then asked do they like the snarl or do they like the hindleg walk.
As Mary Ann, stated and it is very correct. 99% of the public will take a roar/snarl of fear and think it is aggression, and 99% will take an aggressive roar/snarl countered and turn it into cruelty.
They will also misinterpret love and submissiveness.
Wade
