Ben, I don't know if Mr. Benson was a welfare advocate, or a rights advocate. He seems to be doing a lot of unnecessary whining about some goofy snakes!!!!! Wade Burck

A Blog designed for discussion of topics related to, but not limited to, Circus, Zoos, Animal Training, and Animal Welfare/Husbandry. Sometimes opening up the dialog is the best starting point of all. And if for nothing else when people who agree and don't agree, get together and start discussing it, it will open up a lot of peoples minds. Debate and discussion even amongst themselves opens a window where there wasn't one before.

Hmmm...so we have a guy in Kansas catching Prairie Dogs and Kangaroo rats, and snakes and shipping them off to Hagenbeck in Germany -- transit time, 28 days. Long enough for the rodents to be fruitful and multiply. I'm wondering if the busted snake boxes led to a great escape? I'd like to think that at least some of the snakes managed to dine on some of the kangaroo rats before the trip was over.
Great stuff Wade.

Ben,
I have to check the date. Mr. Benson says business is down, and the circus's all want something cheap. Nope, it is dated 1927. I thought it might have said 2007. How's that for staying with tradition? LOL
