All things considered, the 2008 Cole Bros.(aka "J&E show") is a pretty good show.
They really don't have a ring curb per say. They take those flat border sections and form a circle as best they can for the camels, dog & pony, and elephants.
One of the best acts on the show was the girl doing single trapeze. I did not get any still photos of her however.
The music was not what I would have used, but it was a lot better than they had these last few seasons.
I wish them well on their 2008 tour, the 50th year in a row that I have seen the show.

well known and respected horse trainer. I might also add, much loved. Why do you always "rang up" Herriott is a question I am often asked. I guess the best response is, "because I can." Now we have 2 new words in the Circus dictionary "heat merchant" and "agitate." Sometimes they get confused with "heat score" and "rang up". But that depends on their purpose. They can be as evil as Satans revenge, so they can be used "with the utmost respect" as is the case with John Herriott.
The word circus is described in dictionarys as "a chaotic state or confusion." Which I personally find offensive. The duo purpose of this post is to illustrate to the public/outside world that it is a perfectly organized industry, not at all "chaotic or confused" as Websters would suggest. To illustrate it I just used a core group of individuals in this wonderful thing of ours called the CIRCUS. A fan, a clown, and a horse trainer. LOL

Jimmy Cole,
In addition to missing out on trapeze photo, there seems to be a "discrepancy" in regards to what the animals work in on Cole Bros. Circus.
See if you can get together with Pat Cashin and John Herriott and decide what it is thats there? They don't want to get too many animal acts and then find out they cant present them. LOL

I am not a fan of the New Cole-style ringless arena.

I guess I have made my point. And lo and behold they are not inflated jumbo inner tubes, but real ring curbs.

Nice to see how colorful those ring curbs add to what would have been an empty open space
You gotta love this business!!!
