Franz Kraml with 5 tigers belong to the importer L. Ruhe at Circus Barum.
Apparently Mr. Kraml was also an accomplished elephant trainer. This from the obituary of Rolf Knie, Sr.: He(Knie) followed his uncle Charles (who died in 1940) into elephant training, taking over the big herd of Indian elephants after the departure of the master trainer Franz Kraml from Czechoslovakia at the end of 1939.
Does anyone have any additional information about Franz Kraml? Years ago Lou Regan mentioned him highly in conversations I would over hear with other trainers of the time.
I also didn't realize that the animal importer L. Ruhe owned animal act's. Did he have trainers and provided trained act's, or did he just rent the animals and the show trainer trained them, and returned them when finished?
