Vintage Dublin Zoo

This baby elephant was a gift to Dublin Zoo, in 1936, from the governor of Madras. Pictured with the elephant are a Dublin Zoo keeper, and Mr. S. Anthony, who accompanied the elephant from India to Dublin.

The letters RZSI appear on the band of the keeper's cap, for Royal Zoological Society of Ireland, now known as the Zoological Society of Ireland Limited.
