The top photo is a photo in the Peru
WQ around 1921. I have identified several of the cottage cages in
there.
The second photo is indeed the original version of the cage
#39 that you posted. This is the only photo I have ever found of it. If you
compare the two of them you can see some minute differences but enough to make
it a different cage than your posting.

The original cage looks like it had a roof vent of some sort. If you enlarge the photo you can see that the cage is filled with Pelicans.
