KING OF AQUARIA says: "The aerial photo of the 'ruins' shows the layout of the holding tanks where the dolphins and whales were housed between shows at Sea Arama. The oval show pool was fronted a series of glass panels which allowed the audience to observe the performing marine mammals above and below the surface at the same time. This design is commonplace at Sea World parks today but Sea Arama was the first to do this. In October 1968 Sea Arama received 'Mamuk' the Killer Whale from Ted Griffin of the Seattle Marine Aquarium. Mamuk lived and performed at Sea Arama for six years. His holding tank is the oval pool connected to the two smaller circular pools in the aerial photo."

Tim Gould's book about Sea Arama Marineworld is out and it is the best detailed compilation of the history of a marine park ever! Anybody who has ever worked in the animal husbandry business will want to have this book. Lots and lots of photos of killer whales, pilot whales, dolphins seals and sea lions that were used in the shows back in the 60's and 70's.
