Dear Wade-
The posting of the Cole Bros. Great Britain bandwagon reminded me today of the fire in which it was lost on Feb. 20, 1940. Attached are a couple of photo's showing just how bad of a loss it was. The heat was so intense that it actually softened the metal girders holding up the building. The France wagon at CWM was spared as it was not used the previous year and consequently was sitting "out back" in the open air shed. Tragically this is where most of the Christy cat dens were lost also. A lot of great carving went up in smoke that evening.
