Hagenbecks Internationale Völker & Tierschau

This picture from 1916 roughly translated say's, in the lower left corner, Hagenbeck Animal Show & Peoples International. Does anyone have any thoughts or ideas where it was photographed at?

Wade,

Given the uniforms and looking at the picture closer, it appears to me that this might be some kind of skit performed by German soldiers at the front without any real connection to the Hagenbeck Schau. The three "savages" have their faces painted with shoe polish or something similar. Old school entertainment for the troops. Instead of having USO sending Jessica Simpson they had to come up with their own entertainment. Similar to the pictures of the Frontzirkus you posted 11/2010.

Marco,
Thank you, I sure couldn't figure the picture out after I "translated" the sign in the front. I thought maybe Carl had the balls to do a "death camp" scene together with the other human nationalities at the zoo. :)
