A Blog designed for discussion of topics related to, but not limited to, Circus, Zoos, Animal Training, and Animal Welfare/Husbandry. Sometimes opening up the dialog is the best starting point of all. And if for nothing else when people who agree and don't agree, get together and start discussing it, it will open up a lot of peoples minds. Debate and discussion even amongst themselves opens a window where there wasn't one before.

Unsophisticated,
If you would spent a little time bonding with a cabybara sitting on your lap, you would grow to love them like a fine saddle bred horse. You just haven't spent much time with them. :)

Awww, I miss the capybaras. I took a whole bunch of photos of them when they first arrived. You can see them here:

unless the zoo finds them and figures out who I am and yells at me to take them down. They have a rule against posting this sort of thing on the internet now.
Wombat,
Thank you for the great link. Possibly we can get "Tanglefoot" on the right side of a capybara. :)
Why in the world would the zoo object to picture's such as these?
A number of American zoo folks have been "asked" to not comment on this blog any more also. It seems like a form of "censorship" to me. It is why sometimes I will put an anonymous through.
I will take you up on your kind offer of a copy of your new book, when I return stateside. The postal service in Mexico is horrid at best.

Sadly the rule is now that all behind the scenes photos have to be approved by the press office. The argument is that some things can be misinterpreted by the public, which is certainly true, but they'll come down on you just for not asking permission even if the photos are unobjectionable.
Tanglefoot needs to read this blog: http://gianthamster.com/
