IN MEMORIAM: LEE SAUNDERS CRANDALL
What a marvelous account of the day's when zoo men/animal men were truly dedicated to their life's work.
A Blog designed for discussion of topics related to, but not limited to, Circus, Zoos, Animal Training, and Animal Welfare/Husbandry. Sometimes opening up the dialog is the best starting point of all. And if for nothing else when people who agree and don't agree, get together and start discussing it, it will open up a lot of peoples minds. Debate and discussion even amongst themselves opens a window where there wasn't one before.

Mr Crandall's book was one of the first I acquired from sniffing out great books from 2nd hand book shops. There still are try-hards in the zoo business, just in this part of zoo evolution.I have always believed I was born 50 years too late. Thanks to Mr Crandall and his like that we are ahead today but in someways not far ahead enough. Many skills have been gained but many lost as well.
Anonymous,
"A Zoo Mans Notebook" was one of the first animal books I acquired. Not counting my Trigger and Roy books of course.
