There Truly Is No Justice In This World!!!!!

Pablo Hermoso de Mendoza left and Riz the Turbaned Cowboy right.

This is crazy!!!! I would give my left arm to meet Pablo Hermoso de Mendoza, the greatest Rejoneador of modern time's and have a chat with him. This hasn't happened, yet Riz the Turbaned Cowboy got to glad hand with this great man in 2009. That just isn't right!!!!!

From Riz:

Howdy Buck,

Its a thrill for someone like me who is just a back yard animal lover to be able to not only listen to people such as yourslf dicuss training and presenting animals, but to be included in the conversation is a real honor. Thank you!

As for Bowing. A bow can mean so many things and there are many types of bows and bows are used differently in different parts of East and South East Asia.

All however are based not in Submission but Respect.

They can be used as an Apology no doubt, but that is not the spirit or manner in which I believe a performer bows.

Respectfully,

Riz

******************************************

I can understant the misconceptiont hat in Eastern Cultures Bowing is a sign of submission. Especially here in America we dont quite get other cultures so well.

Horse training, Religion and Politics all seem to suffer from the same inherrent problem. If you believe you are right then everyone else must be wrong.

Respectfully,

Riz

P.S.-Have you seen any Donkeys down there in Mexico that can do the Spanish Walk? I am trying to find others so I can gauge my own progress. Would love to see video.

Thanks!

Turb,

I have not seen any donkey's down here in Mexico that can do a Spanish Walk, but I have seen a few high trot when it is time for the tigers to eat. Just kidding, don't get your knickers in a wad. I can assume without the natural bred elasticity in the shoulders that although any equine can surely perform a Spanish Walk it would never be up to par of say an Andalusian. I did see a donkey do a neat capriolle a number of times. His name was Henry, and you need to ask John Milton Herriott about that.

:)

Not only did I get to put my hand on him, I got to meet all his horses and hang out backstage all afternoon. I Walked with Pablo as he looked over the bulls brought in for him to fight, watched him prepareand got to meet his horses.

I am down in Mexico from time to time and we have friends at the Plaza.

Maybe next time we are down to see him fight you can join us.

We would love to have you.
