A Blog designed for discussion of topics related to, but not limited to, Circus, Zoos, Animal Training, and Animal Welfare/Husbandry. Sometimes opening up the dialog is the best starting point of all. And if for nothing else when people who agree and don't agree, get together and start discussing it, it will open up a lot of peoples minds. Debate and discussion even amongst themselves opens a window where there wasn't one before.

No, this is actually a twin to the one directly in front of it. You can make out the end carving on the skyboard.
They are indeed actual circus cages. Both were built for the Howe's Great London Circus in the early 1920's. They served on the Golden Bros. Circus, then to the Christy bros. Circus and its second unit called Lee Bros. Circus.
According to the Chappie Fox book "Horse Drawn Wagon Collection", one was found in a collection of horse drawn wagons near Hollywood that was used in Movie rentals and the other one found its way to Disney.
The Schlitz Brewing Co. bought the one for Circus World Museum and Disney donated the other one to CWM.
