A Blog designed for discussion of topics related to, but not limited to, Circus, Zoos, Animal Training, and Animal Welfare/Husbandry. Sometimes opening up the dialog is the best starting point of all. And if for nothing else when people who agree and don't agree, get together and start discussing it, it will open up a lot of peoples minds. Debate and discussion even amongst themselves opens a window where there wasn't one before.

WADE,THANKS FOR THE GREAT PHOTO! AND THE WONDERFUL MEMORIES THAT IT CONJURES UP!!
I have never seen this particular all-encompassing view.
My dear, departed DAD used to bring my sisters and I to the Central Park Zoo when we were really young.
We were in awe and loved to return.
THANKS AGAIN for the trip back in time!!!
Frank,
My pleasure. It is indeed a unique picture of a unique zoological institution. Did you double click it to get the full size? I have only seen pictures of the front of the "armory" buildings in the past, and never had the pleasure of seeing the zoo. It was closed for renovation the two times I was in New York. I did con a 99 cent tour of the Children's Zoo from a former Director before they tore out a lot of the old classic inside the whale exhibit and other fairy tale type exhibits.
