Marineland of Florida Revisited--Performance Styles

This is a great series of photo's because it gives us the opportunity to really see the different styles of marine mammal presentation, and understand why some are great and some are just so so. Note Popeye Gebel Williams in the top photo. See how he arches his back, kicking his leg jauntily out behind, while leaning dangerously, but gracefully into the jaws of death. Note him also in photo three, with the same reckless abandon, leg gracefully kicked back, as he scoffs at danger while performing a brilliant "mackerel in the mouth 0 death." Photo's two, four, and five are admirable attempts at the famous style of Popeye Gebel Williams, although there is apprehension, and not the "devil may care" attitude of a Popeye. Trainer three makes a nice attempt at the "Backward Rockette " made famous by PGW but it falls short of true PGW panache. The good looking girl in the red shorts and tight T shirt on the bottom left is brilliant, simply because she is a good looking girl in red shorts and tight T shirt, and "cute and charming" is historically a winner in any show.
