Zebra Hitches

This photograph taken outside the London Zoological Society offices in 1914 shows one of the zoo's earliest forays into marketing.

Four zebras pull a cart advertising a brand of tea. Paying passengers were able to sit alongside the driver.

I always enjoy pictures of odd animal hitches, whether they be zebras, camels, elephants or anything else. Thank you for sharing.

I think these zebras were owned and trained by Baron Rothschild, who had the giraffe and the mynah bird as his namesakes. Sincerely Paul
