A Blog designed for discussion of topics related to, but not limited to, Circus, Zoos, Animal Training, and Animal Welfare/Husbandry. Sometimes opening up the dialog is the best starting point of all. And if for nothing else when people who agree and don't agree, get together and start discussing it, it will open up a lot of peoples minds. Debate and discussion even amongst themselves opens a window where there wasn't one before.

Wade, Are these pictures from National Geographic? Maybe you should'nt say. Sincerely Paul
Paul,
I don't know. Why wouldn't I say?

Wade, I thought there could be copyright issues. I saw that photograph of the lady riding the rhinoceros, at London Zoo, in an old National Geographic, and also it used on the cover of a book about African animals, which is strange seeing as it's not an African rhino, but I think the lady may have been the book's author, so she used it. Sincerely Paul
Paul,
Don't get your knickers in a wad. Here's the problem, "I thought." You think too much, LOL.
"Don’t be overly scared by copyright. Most people do not experience copyright infringement allegations or problems, unless they are putting lots and lots of movies or MP3s on their website. Basic common sense will mostly be sufficient to avoid problems: Don’t copy too much and only copy where it is ‘fair’ – where you’re not competing with the owner’s market."
But here's a thought that is real alarming, and should be of concern. I have noted that the Calgary Zoo's "folly" of a new elephant building looks surprising like Edinburgh's equal "folly" Budongo Trail Primate Research building. Is the adage "As goes Scotland, so goes Canada" going to be the way you folk's operate? You need to either keep a better eye on our neighbor's to the North Paul, or pack your bag's and come back home, and we will send somebody else.
Wade
