Ghost Zoo--Jungle Land, Thousand Oaks, Calif.

Photo's above and below. 1965 I have never seen a "pony ride" in which the animals walk in a trench like in the photo above. Does anyone else know of this method being used?

THE TROUGH,AS YOU CALL IT WAS THE LOADING AREA WHERE THE KIDS COULD SADDLE UP BY THEMSELVES AND THE BE SAFETY HARNESSED IN...RCR

Welcome. I said "trench" not trough. How old were these kids? I ask, because I could not cinch a saddle up tight until I was 8 years old, and there is not much "safety" involved in being harnessed to a pony or donkey.
I sure would appreciate it if you would care to share any "Jungle Land" stories with us, in particular some of the fine animal trainers that worked there.
