A Blog designed for discussion of topics related to, but not limited to, Circus, Zoos, Animal Training, and Animal Welfare/Husbandry. Sometimes opening up the dialog is the best starting point of all. And if for nothing else when people who agree and don't agree, get together and start discussing it, it will open up a lot of peoples minds. Debate and discussion even amongst themselves opens a window where there wasn't one before.

Wade,
Do you happen to know what has become of this act, I've herd that Fredy Gafner went to mexico whit this act in the late 1980's
Bjorn
Bjorn,I believe the act was owned by Erie Klant and there was a lot to do about their welfare in the Mexican circus Suarez. After they came back to Europe ,the animals then ended up in some zoo's.
Rob.
This is in short ,what I know and could find. The act,8 polar bears and 1 black bear, was originally owned by Erie Klant and performed amongst others at circus Giovanni Althoff and kerstcircus Ahoy. After his death in 1990,Erie in his last will, left the act to Fredy Gafner. In 2002 the remaining animals were confiscated by the US fish and wildlife, after a lot of rumour, search the net, about their welfare. The ones that survived were placed in some US zoo's.
