Johnny Paycheck

I am often reminded of this song about hypocrisy when I read about or see some of the "Yukon Trail", "Ganesh Temple", "Polar Journey" exhibits being built today in the zoo world to "entertain" folks. What a tough deal it must be for some Directors and staff, to balance ethics and mission, with finding a way to get the public to buy a ticket. The song was written by Johnny Paycheck, after a real incident, whom I had the honor of meeting and listening to just a year before he died in 2003. I consider he, David Allen Coe, Merle Haggard, Kris Kristofferson, and Waylon Jennings to be the greatest singer/songwriters of all time.
