A Blog designed for discussion of topics related to, but not limited to, Circus, Zoos, Animal Training, and Animal Welfare/Husbandry. Sometimes opening up the dialog is the best starting point of all. And if for nothing else when people who agree and don't agree, get together and start discussing it, it will open up a lot of peoples minds. Debate and discussion even amongst themselves opens a window where there wasn't one before.

That is Island House, located at the lowest part of the Riverdale Zoo grounds and adjacent to the zoos lower entrance. It housed a variety of animals and birds over the decades on a temporary basis, but in Riverdale zoos late history it could not be used for display of animals to the public, as Island house was literally located on an island in the middle of a large bird pond and pen area that was completely encircled with chain link fence.
