It's a little hard to maintain sympathy for Isreal when you see story after story like this one

Ian,
I think all the world has to keep an open mind, and view all the side's of any story, with no bias, before choosing sides. It would probably prevent a lot of destruction and lose of "human" life. The amazing deal about history is the further you go back the more it changes your initial thinking. We can try to forget history, but history does not forget us.

Funny thing is, I used to be gung-ho, pro kick their asses until I started thinking what my reaction would be to another faction, government or religion blasting my own town and family into the stone age on a regular basis. I guess, when it's a home made bomb set off at ground level in a mall, it's terrorism. If it's a million dollar missile dropped from 5,000 feet onto a town, it's fair rules of warfare. I'm thinking if foreign tanks were rolling down my street and I was unarmed, I'd be gathering every flamable and explosive thing I could find to send them home in body bags.
The difference between German Zoos being bombed as collateral damage and the Gaza story is that the zoo was purposely destroyed at close range.

Ian,
Come on, cut Israel some slack. If you stole Massachusetts from the people God gave the state too, and built a zoo, you wouldn't expect them to someday try to destroy that zoo?

Hey, Wade, there's a life's work project for you. Help re-build the Gaza Zoo. Not as a political statement, but as they rebuild, you could help them design the enclosures that would be beneficial to the animals and more attractive to the visitors. You could lend your expertise to helping them select suitable animals, and train the staff.
Actually the more I think about it, the more possibilities there are, and I'm 100% serious.
I'm sure there are many animals in situations in the region which could use a better enviroment.
If it was established as (forgive the term) sanctuary, but set up as an attraction open to local families I'm sure the project would attract foreign funds. Actually, as a sidenote, I work for a very wealthy family that has a charitable foundation, so....
Wouldn't that be an awesome project?
