The wonderful, educating thing about looking at these old movies, is to appreciate the steps that have been taken in the advancement of captive animal husbandry. How is "was" is not to be scorned, but rather to understand why there was a need for change and regulation. The "good old days" were just that, but today is so much better in many ways, granted not all ways, for captive wildlife.
