Yup, Dory sure found the gaf on giving his animals the minimum needed to stay alive - though, as with the giraffes, he had enough money to quickly replace those which didn't. yet, he is revered by the fans as 'Mr. Circus'. Glad those days are over.
I saw myself how short changed his animals were. Except in the elephant dept. where the best feed money could buy came into the loft over the elephant quarters by the big trailer loads.
We teased him of being queer for elephants. Not that there is anything wrong with that.
