I guess Jason didn't use the tiger act as speculated. His "cage running" male lion looks good. A fast, exciting trick normally done with lioness's.

With the amount of droop in that net Mr Peters may be using a smaller working cage than usual.
Haven't seen such a shoddy net set up in Australia for years!
The tricks he present are good he has some beautiful jumps, a lion bar, group lay down, cage running, pyramid and moto riding lion. It are all basic tricks but the lions perform well. Only the act is a little bit short.

by the convincing quality of the tricks in your description, remember that most of times less is more. Especially for cage acts, that tends more than often to be the most boring ones in the show business.

I agree with you about the length of any act, not just cage acts. But what Thomas described are basic behaviors/tricks, and a short act with nothing is as boring as a long act with nothing. With the mentality of putting together something/anything fast to get it working, that is about all you will ever be left with. Blame the public for accepting, but it seem's that mentality is changing. Not a bad deal, as we may have to remember what is was, instead of being embarrassed at what it is.

I think we were both suggesting that a wild animal act is better if it is short.

Because then the tricks are worked fast? But Jason's act should not be bad because it's short but because he only performs 6 tricks what is not so much and he combines the lion bar, cage running and jumps. So he only has 3 tricks in his act.
