IMATA 2009--International Marine Animal Trainers Association

Isn't it amazing what you can accomplish with an organized association and a set of standard's in which all are required to adhere to? I so regret the "Land Animal Trainers" didn't do it years ago before all the current problems.

IMATA wasn't always a "sharing" organization. In the beginning there was a lot of "proprietary" information on animal care and training techniques but things change. IMATA has become an organization that welcomes and encourages new trainers as well as a place for the old-timers to jackpot. It has about a 1,000 members. In reality, everyone won't tell you everything but with a little effort you can get a lot of information. (In reality, if you don't want to invest some effort you don't deserve to be a trainer.) A while back IMATA members found that sharing information helps the business and, more importantly, helps the animals.
