Apparently this Chimpanzee was intelligent enough to know there was a war going on, and rubber was a scare commodity, and gave up her only security for the cause. What's a member of the family to do?

Those damned press agents. At it again.
Keeper Quinn's most famous photograph was with Oka, an adult female gorilla at the Bronx. A keeper in the day when "hands on" keeper contact with animals was the norm. (When it was fun.)
