Might these be floor plates stood up at the front of the arena?

I think they are folded seats

Chic,
It is hard to tell. I don't see any legs, folded up.

I couldn't see them either

but the dimensions seemed

to match the other seats

That's why I said "think"

Chic,
A common and cheap way to make floor plates, is to take the tops off old seats off.

Jim,
Are you sure? I was told that he, and a few others from the Oaks used floor plates during movie work. I know he didn't use them for the act, because he never had a group, in his case, with due respect, let's make that two, animals sitting up on the floor together.

Radar,
There are your options to keep a new cat from returning to their seat. A stick on the seat, or if they are at the front as Clyde's are, and you can't block the audience, take them down. Or, become skilled bringing them to floor plates, instead of a lay down, sitting them up, and spinning them into another sit up.
